This past weekend, I made my second trip in two weeks to Park Slope’s Chip Shop. A Park Slope success story, the Chip Shop has expanded in the last 3 years from a small fish & chips eatery on Fifth Ave. to creating the next-door, shared-kitchen Curry Shop, to opening a second location on Atlantic Avenue.
- Battered Cod & Chips The Chip Shop’s signature dish, this flaky cod comes with a sizeable helping of chips. Simply prepared using quality fish, this is delicious.
- Steak & Onion Pie The gravy on this filling pie is mouthwatering. Seriously, I’m hungry for it right now.
- Chicken Tikka Massala Smooth and warmly spiced, a good rendition of a commonplace Indian dish.
- Woody’s Alcopops I’m not sure if I can technically recommend these. The “cranberry” flavor tastes like Triaminic, and the “blueberry” like dental flouride rinse. They’re strangely addictive.
Tips
- Bring in something you would like fried. A candy bar, a snack, whatever. I bet they’ll batter and fry it for you for a reasonable fee.
- The Chicken Curry & Chips is low on flavor and generally disappointing.

Hi friend of Dave’s. I found your link on Dave Dowd’s site. My husband Niel is a friend of his. Anyway, Niel and I tried the chip shop and loved it. Neat site by the way.
